LEVEL 2 AWARD
WELFARE OF ANIMALS IN TRANSIT -SHORT JOURNEY
This is the qualification you need if you want to transport animals OVER 65KM and UNDER 8 hours. We usually offer this as a 2 hour face to face session, an hours tuition, followed by the multiple choice test paper. During Covid, we have developed a remote version that meets Awarding body quality assurance, and our clients specific needs
So- What does the test involve? Always the first question!
The whole test is multiple choice. Ever seen “Who wants to be a millionaire?? Well it’s like that, but there is no phone a friend or ask the audience!
✓ Each question will offer you 4 options. Only one is correct. There are no “trick”
questions.
✓ There is a general paper of 25 questions. You need 18 out of 25 to pass.
✓ Then there is a paper for cattle, sheep, goats ,pigs and horses, each has 5
questions. As long as you get 4 out of 5 correct, then that species is added to your
certificate.
✓ You can do all 5 species, or just ones you choose. NOTE- POULTRY IS SEPARATE
How much is it?
It is £165 plus vat per person.
If there are a group of you, and you want a face to face session here at Caerlan Farm, CF40 1SN, then we will discount this price.
When do you run them?
Often and regularly! We used to run group sessions when the legislation came in, but now we can run a session as a one to one- so we just need to agree a time and date that’s suitable. We can do early evenings and sometimes weekends.
How do you run them?
FACE TO FACE HERE OR VIA A REMOTE ZOOM SESSION.
STEP 1 – Fill in registration form, send it back. NEED NAME, ADDRESS, POSTCODE, DOB, PLACE AND COUNTRY OF BIRTH, NATIONALITY.
STEP 2 – We agree a time and whether its FACE TO FACE or REMOTE zoom. FACE TO FACE ?
We send a map, confirm the time, and get kettle on. We talk through the
legislation, you can ask questions, and give you info to take away.
We then do the test- paper based. We can read out the questions if you
prefer. You are not allowed access to training materials, phones etc.
ZOOM?
We send you a study booklet- just read it Don’t try and learn it! We also send you a Zoom invite to the session. We will talk through the legislation using slides, and you can follow in the study booklet.
When we do the test- I will read you the question, with the 4 possible answers a,b,c,d. You will choose the answer, I will record it. As it is a zoom session I can see you and invigilate just like a face to face session. You are not allowed access to training materials, phones etc.
We send your test off to be marked. We send you an invoice, and post your
certificate to you after payment is made.
What if I fail?
You will have a free re-sit – no extra charge.
Never done zoom?
No problem, we will talk you through what to do, and have a practice session if you wish.
